In this interactive installation, a stethoscope was employed to capture human heartbeat. The sound signal is visualized into zoom-able and rotatable three-dimensional representation.
As creative artwork, this piece was invited to present at a medical conference, “Medicine Meets Virtual Reality”. Application of such research includes the possibility of applying the model to better understand the structure of human EKG heart signals, unveiling a new dimension of complexity in human heart mechanism. The sound visualization is rooted in rigorous mathematical/physical theories and calculations of simple harmonic motion.
